Are you looking to feel supported and held? Find your community?

Join us to connect, share, and heal together in a safe space designed for new mothers.

Join us for four weeks of connection and support every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. This will be a small, closed group that will meet virtually over Zoom. You'll be supported by Intern Therapists Ramann and Sophi as well as Associate Therapist Amy Commanda.

Best of all, it's completely FREE!!

This 4-week group meets every Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30pm, providing a safe space to:

  • Share experiences with other new mothers

  • Learn evidence-based coping strategies

  • Address common postpartum challenges

  • Build a supportive community

This group is possible through fundraising from Flora’s Walk where a portion of raised monies goes towards community programming as well as towards continued advocacy efforts of the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative.

 

Your Facilitators

 

Ramann Patara is an Intern Therapist who brings a diverse background in environmental education, social justice, and community support to her counselling practice. With a Master's in Environmental Studies and experience working with organizations like Earth Day Canada and Pathways to Education, she has focused on promoting equity and access in underserved communities. Currently a specialized reading intervention teacher with the Toronto District School Board, Ramann's journey into motherhood inspired her to explore Conscious Parenting Coaching and pursue a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive environment for clients, emphasizing empathy, authenticity, and confidentiality to foster genuine connections and support personal growth.

 
 

Sophi Diab is an Intern Therapist pursuing her Masters of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University. She also works as a Sexual Assault Counsellor at the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo, a role she deeply values for its learning opportunities and the chance to witness healing. Sophi's therapeutic approach is collaborative and flexible, incorporating various evidence-based modalities with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She aims to create a non-judgmental and brave space for clients, recognizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Sophi values hearing people's stories and seeing them for who they are, finding comfort in the shared human experience. She incorporates warmth, humanity, and humour alongside evidence-based tools to facilitate meaningful growth and change for her clients.

 
 

Amy Commanda is a First Nations woman, mother, and licensed member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She is passionate about empowering women, mothers, and couples to overcome struggles and live authentically. Amy specializes in supporting clients with perinatal anxiety and depression, Indigenous identity challenges, intergenerational trauma, and women's wellness. Her approach is gentle, empathetic, and collaborative, prioritizing each client's unique needs and intentions. As part of Cherry Tree Counselling, Amy is committed to providing a safe therapeutic environment that supports women, whom she sees as the backbone of the community. She believes in helping clients understand their story and guiding them to overcome challenges while remaining true to themselves.
