Our Walk and Talk Ecotherapy program takes therapy outdoors and into nature.

Awareness is increasing that our physical environment can aid in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of mental health issues, and more specifically, exposure to natural environments can have many added benefits.

Green space is linked to lower stress levels, less anxiety and fewer depression symptoms and spending time in nature helps us to relax and think more clearly. When you spend time in a natural environment, you’re more likely to use your senses to experience your surroundings. Calming sounds, like birds chirping or the rustling of leaves, can help you detach from traffic, work conflict, and ordinary stressors of everyday life.

 

YOUTH WALK AND TALK PROGRAM

Feeling cooped up or restless? Our innovative Walk and Talk Therapy program allows youth to get outside and get active while receiving mental health support. By taking therapy sessions outdoors on a walking path, teens can benefit from the mood-boosting effects of exercise, fresh air, and a change of scenery. Walk and talk therapy can help reduce anxiety, improve focus, and provide a comfortable space for opening up. We’ve got you covered. Our Distance Walk and Talk option allows you choose the location that works for you - your favourite trail, neighbourhood, or even your own backyard!

We will ‘meet’ you on the phone and walk and talk together… but physically apart.
