Meet Jennifer Joseph

MSN, BSN, CPMHN(C), RN Psychotherapist (she/her)

ASSOCIATE THERAPIST

”My goal is to provide tangible skills in each session so that you leave with a new piece of knowledge and understanding to help you on your journey.”

Jennifer is currently accepting new clients with no wait times and has daytime and some evening availability for virtual and in-person sessions at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Ontario.

I am incredibly passionate about what I do. I feel that I was put on this earth to help people heal.

As a nurse psychotherapist, I am a healthcare professional with specialized training in both nursing and psychotherapy. My goal is to promote healing, personal growth, and mental and physical well-being. I have worked in mental health and addictions for more than 16 years and it is no longer just a passion, but rather my calling.

I also bring compassion and empathy to individuals struggling with addiction. With a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges that accompany addiction, I approach my clients with non-judgemental support and positive regard. I believe in the inherent worth and potential for growth in each person I work with, fostering a safe and nurturing therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. My genuine compassion creates a space for healing and empowerment, allowing clients to navigate their journey of recovery with dignity, hope, and resilience.

Stress, anxiety, trauma, and depression can result in the development of substance use disorders, which can create new challenges for your mental health. Getting to the root cause of your substance use will help to find long-lasting outcomes and not just band-aid solutions.

Addiction is not a moral failure, but a treatable health condition. By fostering open dialogue and promoting awareness, I aim to create a culture of support and acceptance that empowers individuals to seek help without fear of judgment or shame. I also recognize that relapses are often part of the process, and I will help you to work through this difficult time with advice on relationship repair with family, friends and yourself.

I don’t think there is a greater gift in the world than to feel like you’ve made a difference in someone’s life. I am a living kidney donor and believe in a certain amount of self-sacrifice for the greater good of humanity. I want clients to leave feeling as though they have some action items and to feel empowered about their mental health.

I provide a warm, inclusive space for my clients where they can feel safe and validated while learning skills to help them improve their current situations.

As with any relationship, your relationship with your therapist has to be the right fit. I offer free meet-and-greet sessions to ensure that clients feel confident and comfortable working with me.
